Palmetto State Bank, headquartered in Hampton, South Carolina, was
founded in 1907 by R. O. Bowden. In this time of mega banks, Palmetto State
Bank is the last community bank in Hampton County. We have grown from a
bank with $2 million in assets in a sparse building with bare light bulbs
hanging from the ceiling to a nearly one half billion dollar institution
with seven branches in Hampton, Beaufort, and Allendale counties.
We at Palmetto State Bank credit our exceptional growth to a strong
economy and the fact that we have never lost sight of what is important to
us...our customers. We understand the people and their needs better than
any big, out-of-state bank ever could. We deliver the kind of service that
everyone thought was a thing of the past. Because our customers are also
our neighbors, we want to give them the absolute best one-on-one service
every time we interact.
For over 100 years, Palmetto State Bank has served our community. A
trusted neighbor, through good times and bad, we've been here, lending a
hand, helping businesses and families grow. After all, we're your community
bank and we've been helping our neighbors since 1907.
